Policies

  • 1. OVERVIEW

It is Oz-UK Limited’s policy to conduct all its business in an honest, transparent and ethical manner. This includes ensuring effective systems and controls are in place to minimise the risk of slavery and human trafficking taking place in our business operations or supply chains. We take a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery and human trafficking within Oz-UK Limited and its supply chains, and are committed to acting professionally, fairly and with integrity in all our business dealings and relationships wherever we operate.

    2. SLAVERY AND HUMAN TRAFFICKING ARRANGEMENTS

Oz-UK Limited has published an anti-modern slavery and human trafficking policy which is available to all its colleagues on the company’s intranet. As part of our commitment to ensuring a high level of understanding of the risks of modern slavery and human trafficking in our supply chains and our business, all our colleagues undergo annual awareness training with a focus on those involved in procurement or with responsibility for supply chain management so that they can recognise signs of slavery and human trafficking.

    3. FURTHER CONTROLS

Oz-UK Limited has updated its whistleblowing policy to ensure our colleagues are able to raise concerns in respect of slavery and human trafficking. Oz-UK Limited will continue to review its processes and procedures with its suppliers to ensure potential risks in our supply chains are identified, assessed, mitigated and monitored.

New and existing suppliers are required by law to publish anti-slavery statement in a prominent location on the organisation's website. Oz-UK Limited is committed to ensuring compliance with the Act by our suppliers and partners.

Oz-UK Limited colleagues receive no less than the prescribed minimum wage and we apply robust immigration checks and expect the same standards from our suppliers.

  • 1. OVERVIEW

The OzUK Director have introduced the Living Wage as a policy for all OZUK staff and contract staff. OzUK agree to pay above the Living Wage as set out by the Living Wage Foundation to all its employees and contract staff.

The Living Wage Policy ensures that people working on behalf of the OzUK are paid the same minimum rate as if they worked directly for the OzUK.

There is considerable evidence that paying the Real Living Wage, as set out by the Living Wage Foundation, boosts flexibility and performance, reduces sickness and aids staff retention.

    2. WHAT WE MEAN BY THE REAL LIVING WAGE

The Real Living Wage is not the same as the National Living Wage which is a legal requirement. The Real Living Wage, is the same as that set out by the Living Wage Foundation and independently determined on an annual basis by the Centre for Research in Social Policy at Loughborough University. The current rate can be found at: www.livingwage.org.uk This Living Wage is not a statutory requirement but a voluntary undertaking.

The Real Living Wage as described above is intended to recognise the dignity of work and the importance for individuals, families and society of people being able to earn a living. The idea is rooted in notions of contribution, reciprocity and community.

For employees, the Living Wage Foundation’s Living Wage means no longer having to work multiple jobs, getting some sleep and being able to provide for and spend time with their family.

For employers, it means higher staff morale, better quality work, improved rates of retention, lower rates of sickness and absence, and reputational gain. For local authorities, it can mean more money being spent by local employees in the local economy.

    3. REPORTING ON THE REAL LIVING WAGE OzUK WILL:

Report and promote the suppliers/contractors & grant recipients who have adopted the Real Living Wage within their organisation and supply chain.

Monitor contracts to check that suppliers continue to pay the Real Living Wage, especially after the annual uplift which takes place every November.
